History of Nueng Siam Museum

Nueng Siam Museum occurred from collection of old woods which have been used more than hundred years such as ancient water trough, ancient rice mortar, ancient animal dish, pillar and floor of house, etc. All of these old woods are teaks which ancient people have to be used for hundred years. In the present time, these teak are precious but few people appreciate about these teak and most people uses modern things instead of teaks for example PVC water trough, cement and many other modern things which made the next generation overlook these precious things. So, someone use this wood as fire wood or alter to be other appliances. Therefore, the owner of this museum foreseen about these precious things and after that he collected and conserved these things for the next generation. During that time he also found about Old Thai Carving which is the old handicraft of Thailand and rare to see in this time. So, he has the idea to conserve and preserve both of old teaks and Old Thai Craving together.

Eventually, he collaborated with craftsmen to carve these old teaks according to belief, religion and various festivals. After that he took some handicrafts to show in Nueng Siam Museum at Pattaya Floating Market and to promote the cultural heritage for both of Thai people and foreigners to visit and appreciate with these handicrafts.
